The story of The Great British Jeweller is one that is etched in deep history, traditions and heritage. One thing remains the same : The founder, Martin Kutock is still actively involved in the jewellery manufacturing process and at the ripe old age of 81, Martin has no plans on retiring. The methods he was taught as a jeweller’s apprentice some 67 years ago at age 14 are still in existence today. This is what has made the company behind The Great British Jeweller still be thriving today while others have come and gone.

From humble beginnings as a Jeweller’s Apprentice for an upmarket Jewellery Manufacturer, Martin won 1st Prize three years running at the age of 16,17 & 18 for making jewellery which was awarded to him by the Arts Council of Great Britain.

From 1954 to 1965 Martin went alone and carried out jewellery model making to the trade from his bench space that he rented in Bond Street, London.
1965 saw exciting challenges with the founding of the Jewellery factory supplying wholesalers with finished gold rings.

The company operated from its factories in London, Birmingham and Haverhill in Suffolk from the 1960s to the 1990s.

Having been a traditional British jewellery manufacturer who use to sell exclusively to trade customers. The company now operates a different stance and sells directly to individual customers via its online channels and website from its workshop and office in Watford in Hertfordshire, now joined by Martin’s two sons and daughter-in-law along with a team of skilled craftsmen and office staff.

Today, the company behind The Great British Jeweller is one of the leading jewellery manufacturers and online retailers with over 100,000 online customers over a period of more than 13 years.

The company has expanded into new international markets and have daily sales orders from USA, Canada, Australia, most countries in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, South America and Mexico to name but a few.

Sourcing stones directly from gemstone cutters has enabled the company to control its manufacturing costs and can pass any savings onto its customers by offering lower prices than its high street and online competitors.
